Tata launched the updated Tigor EV priced at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The update added a new Magnetic Red body shade to its colour palette and bolstered its features list with equipment borrowed from the Tiago EV and Nexon EV. No mechanical revisions were made to its powertrain, but it did get a rejig in its variants list. Existing Tigor EV owners can benefit from features like regenerative braking, tyre pressure monitoring system, puncture repair kit and even smartwatch connectivity (top-spec only) via a software update.

Power comes from a 75PS electric motor that’s fed using a 26kWh battery pack. Using a DC fast-charger, its battery can be replenished from a nought to 80% in just 60 minutes. A standard wall charger takes 8.5 hours for the same. The addition of multi-level regenerative braking system has improved its claimed range which now stands at 315km.

Engine
